Hi, I’m Gabe.

(Nee: Putu Gabriel Lee Levine)

Born in Sigapore, moved to the US when I was a little kid. I spent most of my adult life writing, recording, touring in an indie rock band. Music is still the primary way I understand the world.

I love Math (MA in Applied Math from CUNY, working on a PhD in CS) which led me to Software engineering and Machine Learning Engineering.

Day JOB: ML @ Spotify where I lead the team that builds (among other things) our music representation models. We teach computers to listen and understand music!

I’m persuing a PhD at CUNY Graduate Center, currently working on research around Create Multi-Agent Systems.

I still write and record music, though I don’t play out much at all anymore. My other creative output is exploring generative art and creativity through AI systems.
